First Day of School!

School has begun!
o
We spent a lot of time this summer admonishing the kids against having a bad attitude on this very day, hoping to avoid a repeat of last year, so we're happy to report that things went very well this morning.
o
Maren at breakfast, moments before her brother spilled her full cup of icewater on her lap.

o
I'll let this sequence speak for itself.

o
We played the Rocky theme song at home this morning to inspire them!
o
Among the many wonderful things about the O.G., their take-out bags make great school supply transporters.

o
I now have some great advice for all parents whose kids are less-than-enthused about the first day of school: TAKE HUNDREDS OF PICTURES.

o
They will want to RUN into the school to get away from you!!

o
Maren, Leyla and Ms. Hartel.

o
This greets you as you enter the Third Grade room. It perfectly sums up the wisdom Miss Stone has attained in her 40+ years of teaching.

o
Kaitlyn's NEAT DESK

o
We're pretty sure Deacon's desk will never look like that.
o
Miss Stone was sick today; the class will spend its first day in the capable hands of Mrs. Wiedman, who took a look at Deacon's new 3-D book cover.
o
Sharpened and ready to go!

o
Meanwhile, back in First Grade...

o

o
First Grade moms know a good photo-op when they see one.
o
It's Fall, and things will be getting busy around here very soon. Look for lots of updates!
