Watching the Skies

Well, with Mommy and Daddy busily rearranging furniture in the house and Deacon (and by association Maren) banned from TV for the evening due to an incident at school (playing tag in the restroom), the kids surreptitiously moved blankets and various animals and pillows out to the front lawn to watch shooting stars. No meteor shower... no problem!! Pretending to see meteors was more fun than actually seeing one or two an hour.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Top o' the mornin'! Er, afternoon! We went to the St. Patrick's Day event at the Disney Channel building in Burbank, and Maren enjoyed eating a cupcake, having her picture taken, and getting a shamrock tattoo. Here's the "official" picture and some cell phone pics.

Sing Out Hosanna!

The St. Paul's Cherub, Canticle, Crusader and Chancel Choirs sang together this morning at the Palm Sunday service. What a treat to hear such a range of voices!

Here are some pictures and a movie!

Funny Things Kids Say

Last night, Maren was jumping up and down in anticipation of her pizza dinner when she bumped into a chair and bit into her lip a little bit. Then today, she bumped her head on the gate latch out back, sustaining a little scratch by her eye.

So today when she came home from preschool with a couple more scrapes, I commented that she had a lot of owies. Walking away, she said, "Yeah, I'm in Owie Town."

Dance Fever

We went to the St. Paul's Family Dance tonight and stayed out until... drumroll... after 9 PM!
f
The theme was "Surfin' 60s", and Deacon and Maren partied like it was 1999. They didn't miss a beat, doing the Conga, Limbo, and Cha Cha Slide like old pros.
f
Derek and Terri were especially impressed that the older kids seemed to know every word of the songs off the Grease soundtrack!!
