In order to preserve the "page-turning" quality, which greatly enhances this story's reading experience, I've left abundant black space in between pages. So excessive downward scrolling will be required for this post.

And an unrelated Maren-ism...

I wanted to document this, but didn't know if it was worthy of its own post. Yesterday Maren was pondering Deacon's beloved plastic vomit (the kind of thing you put on the floor, hoping to fool unsuspecting parents, siblings, etc.) and she earnestly said (and you have to picture her eyes getting big when you read this): "It's a good thing they don't sell real vomit."

ahhh Maren--- our budding novelist! Her story has all the right ingredients, a beginning, middle and end, AND suspense, all illustrated beautifully. It also has a moral to the story -- DON'T BE A STRANGER AND A BAD GUY 'CAUSE YOU MIGHT EAT A POISONOUS APPLE!
And yes, I can just picture those expressive, big, beautiful eyes as she's remarking about the fake vomit. She sure knows how to use them to make an important point!
