Since we're finally taking down all of our decorations this weekend, I thought we'd have one last blast of Christmas here on the AFB.o

We went to Papa's house in Auburn to celebrate with Grammie, Papa, Auntie Kay, Uncle Mike, Michelle, Jon, Brande, Olivia, Dain and Chase.
o
No room for people... the presents filled up the whole front room!

o
Chase was obviously impressed by Deacon and Dain's puppetry skills.

o
Only Auntie Kay could keep the kids so enthralled by a story while a big roomful of unopened presents beckoned from mere inches away!

o
Almost time!
Maren loves her new talking Wubbzy!

o
Since Uncle Chris had a cold, he and Gramps valiantly held down the fort in Fair Oaks while we were up in Auburn. So we saved a few more presents to open with them.o

Opening presents is hard work!

Making sure Gramps feels the love from Candy Cub (Maren's name for Grammie's favorite thing in the world).

That night, Maren became concerned that I might not relinquish Panda in a timely manner, so after a few dust-ups over the bear, she finally won the tug of war:) She's a very strong girl!
What exactly does Candy Cub do?
Candy Cub is animatronic -- has facial expressions, makes noise. Derek thinks it's creepy, but it's a hit with everyone else.
It purrs softly and says "I love you Tom, and I'm watching you while you sleep."
"I used to lay in bed and watch Tom sleep...once in a while he'd wake up and catch me...he'd let out a scream..."
Candy Cub sounds exquisitely "Chuckie-esque" in his/her powers...watch your back, Derek.
