Truth be told, it was a big dud compared to years past, due to the economy. No snow or big production numbers. Just Mickey and Minnie...

...and popcorn.

Actually, it was kind of nice. The Disney studio choir sang as the switch was flipped...

...but the lack of snow was still a bummer. An actual Disney, Roy E. Disney (son of Walt's brother, Roy O. Disney) was on hand to boost spirits (and sales of his latest book).

The Studio store was PACKED, and I got out as fast as I could.

At least Derek got some nice shots of the tree.

It wasn't all so disappointing, though -- Derek got the best parking space we've ever gotten in the dreaded Zorro parking structure...

Close to the elevator and everything!

We ditched the crowded and overpriced studio commissary and headed to Burbank's premiere nightspot for dinner.

o
You have to admit, this looks REALLY good.

And finally... I just couldn't finish this post without including this picture of Mary and Susan from last year. Hopefully the snow will be back next year!

Was it hard to leave that parking spot behind?
It was. We had fun going to Denny's, but it was tinged with sadness somehow...
Is Yaki's still in business?
"Gosh, Derek, this cheeseburger is really good, huh...Derek?"
"Hmm...what...you say somethin'? Oh, yeah, yeah, good...real good...sigh..."
