V.I.P. Day

Deacon got to take something very special to school today... his Gramps!

Gramps and Deacon enjoyed attending a Chapel service, making a craft, and having lunch together for V.I.P. day, an annual tradition at St. Paul's.

Like any other paparazzo in this town, I jumped out of my running car to take pictures of Gramps and Deacon walking to Chapel...

...and Deacon responded like any celebrity.

After a fun day at school together, they got to head home after lunch.

Gramps is full of hidden but formidable talents. This is what he wrote and shared with the class:

Thank you Deacon! This is a special day for me
To be with you and your classmates and the other V.I.P.’s

And this is a special time and place for you
Where learning will help make your dreams come true.

If I could look into the future, I think I’d see
A fireman, policeman, lawyer, teacher…
Or whatever you and your classmates want to be.

Maybe a scientist or pastor or T.V. personality
Even someone who studies paleontology.

So always listen to what Miss Miller has to say
And be good and kind to your classmates when it’s time to play.

Have lots of fun and enjoy each day
And just before bedtime, don’t forget to pray.

What a great speech, Gramps! So true! How cool to be able to go to Kindergarten as a VIP. Lucky Deacon and Gramps!

Love and hugs to all.
