FUNDERLAND!

Thought I'd post a fairly up-to-date adventure before returning to our coverage of Hume Lake.
o
On Monday, we joined Chris and Sydney Strange for a trip to local Sacramento amusement park Funderland, which lived up to its name.
o
Funderland: who knew?? Apparently it's been in Sacramento since 1947, but we native Sacramentans had never heard of it. One inexpensive yellow wristband purchased at the ticket counter = a whole day of unlimited rides. Cool!

o
First stop: the Log Ride.

o
Sydney and Deacon make a "two headed guy".

o
Airplanes!

o

o
This would be the last photo of the day of the kids before they were transformed...

o
...into dogs and Spiderman!

o
o
Great minds - Chris and I take the same pic at the same time from opposite angles.

o
Happy train riders.

o
Chris and the kids ride the forward-backward spin thingy. I did a slightly closer inset of them because I thought it was funny that they all had the same expression.

o
A very intense little roller coaster - Chris and the kids loved it.

o
I'm not a person who enjoys roller coasters and went only once to keep Maren from flying out. I was devastated when my beloved sunglasses went flying off my head. The roller coaster guy looked all over and we decided they probably flew into a dense, bottomless shrub, never to be found again. At least it wasn't the camera... or Maren, I kept telling myself.
o
Then we were in line for the train, and there they were!!
o
Then we got to meet up with the third Strange, Mike, for dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. So it was a great day with a happy ending!!

What a funderful day. Yes, it's those little, unassuming rollercoasters that will get you... Same thing happened to me and my sister at Legoland several years ago. We got in line for the "kiddie" rollercoaster and discussed life as adults, smugly ignoring the screams of the younger riders. We nonchalantly boarded the ride and proceeded to scream the whole time. It was the most terrifying ride I've ever been on.
