He took this cell phone pic:

It wasn't a blimp... thanks to its elongated shape and the "Airship Ventures" logo, we knew it was a Zeppelin!
o
You may or may not know that I've had a lifelong fascination with Zeppelins. So it was a thrill to see one with my very own eyeballs (I was able to see it from our front porch, too), even if it wasn't as big as three football fields and filled with flammable gas like the Zeppelins of yesteryear.
o
Unlike the Goodyear Blimp, it's a semi-rigid airship built by the Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik company (successor to Ferdinand Von Zeppelin's German Zeppelin Company) in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
o
And while it might not be as eventful as the famous Hindenburg footage from 1937, here's Reporter Derek's cell phone newsreel footage of Zeppelin NT's historic flight over the Burbank Vons.
o
(We're thinking the flight might have had something to do with media coverage of the nearby Michael Jackson funeral, which was getting underway at that time.)
