They eventually escaped from the sand and joined us for the ride home to Burbank!

Apparently, the final scene from "Planet of the Apes" was filmed there. Derek could've recreated Chuck Heston's delirious over-acting.
I started to do the famous scene - got about halfway through - and was quickly arrested. Apparently, some people just don't appreciate the dramatic arts.
