La Brea Tar Pits

This morning Deacon mentioned that he wanted to see a Woolly Mammoth. So we went to the La Brea Tar Pits!

My favorite sign of the day was at the entrance before you paid to go in the museum: "WHERE IS T-REX? We do not have dinosaur skeletons here. We have ice-age mammal skeletons."

I love the pix of the kids not getting too close to the fence by the pits lest they fall into the bubbling tar. I remember my mom's warnings to not get too close to the "pits" on a similar trip a few years back. The only difference was I was a young adult. Hmm?
