We were in the mood for a new adventure today, so the kids and I went to the Panorama City Recreation Center, where they have an "aquatic playground."
Fun -- and free!! Took some pictures with my trusty cell phone cam...

It's a neat place -- they played in the water and then on the regular playground equipment, and then on the swings... lots of stuff to do in a small area. All of our recent water adventures have ended with a trip to In-N-Out Burger, so today was no exception... the kids even got In-N-Out hats, just like real In-N-Out employees!

Since they both had hats, Deacon wanted to set up a drive-thru at home so they could "work" and wear their hats. Don't they look professional?

I'd like one Double-Double Animal Style, 2 french fries, a medium Dr. Pepper and a chocolate shake. I'll eat it in the car...
How cute!!! It's always amazed me how kids can transition so quickly from a new or favorite life experience into playful exploration. It's a great way to learn how to be in the world...through play. That's something adults should consider doing more of. We do it all the time in theater. But that's not the norm.
I was talking to an actor friend of mine and we were sharing stories about times we did something out of the norm in public and got some stares. We agreed the answer is to just say, "I'm an actor/performer/in theater" and then the bemused observer will relax and response. "Oh! O.K. That explains it".
Wow! What a GREAT playground. That's the cool thing about living in L.A. So many places to go...so many places to see. I'm green with envy (:
I have the baby pools out and filled. The doggies have been hot.
